Palestinian report warned from the consequences of American administration granting the green light to Israel’s emergency government to annex settlements and impose “Israeli sovereignty” on areas in the occupied West Bank.
Recording to a report emanating from Palestinian liberation organization that the US administration helped the Israeli occupying power consolidate apartheid and deprived the Palestinian people their right to self-determinate, using the world’s preoccupation with the Corona epidemic and in a futuristic step in implementing the century deal aimed at settling the Palestinian cause and rights.
The report of the National Bureau for Land Defense and Resistance of settlement in the Liberation Organization clarified that the announcement of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompio last week that states (the decision of annexing lands in the occupied West Bank “ultimately” belongs to “Israel”), is regarded as green light for Netanyahu government to move forward in the agreed arrangements between them concerning imposing “Israeli sovereignty” over the West Bank territories amid the conclusion of the American-Israeli crew mapping, which allows the occupation government to start applying the century deal unilaterally by the procedure of annexing of settlement areas while the world is busy in fighting the Corona epidemic.
The report, Pompii's speech confirms that the July 1 defining of the partnership agreement to form a new Israeli government between Likud and the remnants of a blue-white party as the date for the start of annexation arrangements and "Israeli sovereignty" on targeted settlement areas was not as improvised as the American staff agreed – Israel, which is charged with carrying out annexation maps before this date, will make it possible to put practical arrangements for unilateral steps by Israel with American approval.
The Palestinian report described this as a clear challenge to the international law and the international legitimacy resolutions related to the Palestinian issue and the Palestinian people's rights, and legislation for the policy of bullying and the laws of the jungle, which became a main component of the US foreign policy under US President Donald Trump.
On the international reactions, PLO report clarified that UN coordinator of peace process Nikolai Mladenov warned that any possible inclusion of Palestinian lands to "Israel" would be a destructive blow to "the principle of two-state solution".
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that the EU does not recognize "Israeli sovereignty" on the occupied West Bank and that the EU's position on the status of the territories occupied by Israel in 1967 has not changed, in line with international law and relevant Security Council resolutions. Including resolutions 242 and 338.
The agreement to impose "Israeli sovereignty" on areas in the West Bank was condemned by Europe and Russia, while the United States defended the decision by the permanent US ambassador to the United Nations, Sherit Norman Shalit, during a Security Council session in New York.
At the same time, most of the Security Council members confirmed their refusal to these plans or recognizing any unilateral changes that seek to undermine the borders of June 4, 1967, and Russia expressed its concern over the unilateral implementation plans of the century deal, according to what was confirmed by the Irish Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Kuffini. The seriousness of any step such as annexing territories in the West Bank, because they are part of the occupied Palestinian territories, and international law prohibits the annexation of territory by force.
