Israeli Occupation Initiate Scanning Operations in the Holy Mosque

This comes amid rising tensions in the surrounding area and restrictions of worshipers to approach the mosque, claiming the closure of the mosque due to coronavirus outbreak.

Wednesday morning, Israeli engineers with the protection of the occupation police-initiated scanning and measurement operations in the Holy Mosque yards.

This comes amid rising tensions in the surrounding area and restrictions of worshipers to approach the mosque, claiming the closure of the mosque due to coronavirus outbreak.

By proclaiming corona restrictions, Israeli occupation authorities deny any citizen from outside the old city in Jerusalem to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque, and takes the opportunity of the closure to change the reality in Al-Aqsa mosque.

It is pointed out that this is the first time, scanners from the occupation municipality dare to scan Al-Aqsa mosque yards.

In previous time, Islamic endowment in Jerusalem and Palestinian foreign ministry warned the seriousness of this excavation operations, especially under the bridge which connects Al-Buraq yard with Al-Aqsa, demanding international intervention to stop it.

The occupation seeks to create a new path of excavations to connect it with the western territory.

For a long time, Israeli occupation authorities attempt to take control of the eastern territory of Al-Aqsa mosque, specifically Al-Rahma gate, and restrict renovation and paving of its yards, and today it pursues to reach it through excavations and Judaization.
