Maher Al-Akhras 94 days since the hunger strike and a hearing session to move him to another hospital

Midst worsening conditions of his health status, Maher Al-Akhras the administrative prisoner (49 years old) carries on an open hunger strike for 94 consecutive days, in protest for his administrative detention.

Commission of detainee’s affairs media advisor Abd Rabbo said the “Israeli” Supreme Court will hold a hearing session to look into the request of Al-Akhars lawyer to move him to Al-Maqassed hospital in Jerusalem or Al-Najah national university hospital in Nablus.
Regarding the health condition of Al-Akhras, Abd Rabbo said: “The health condition of the detainee Al-Akhars is critical and the continuation of his hunger strike will cause permanent effects on his vital organs for the rest of his life”.
He added: “The prisoner is enduring heavy Nausea and exhaustion and started to feel pain in his heart, in addition to, physical pain, impact on his sense of smell and taste and might have a sudden collapse in his vital organs, due to the lack of minerals and liquids in his body, and he still refuses on getting fluids and supplements”.
